ni-tro-glis'-er-in, s. a highly explosive oily liquid prepared by the action of nitric and sulphuric acid on glycerine. the mixture of nitric and muriatic or hydrochloric acid, formerly called aqua regia. magnesia, generally found on old walls and in limestone caves.
