Sixteenth succe or of Solomon as King of Judah, ab. 641-610 B.C.; probably the best of his line; slain at Megiddo, in battle with the Egyptians, and bitterly mourned. In his reign, ab. 623, the "book of the law," whether Deuteronomy in whole or part, or with other Scriptures, was found in the temple.
