SATAN

Gen. 3.1. The serpent was more subtile than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 4. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 14. Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15. And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her 1 Chr. 21.1. Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. Job 1.6. There was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. 7. The Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. 9. Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 10. Hast not thou made an hedge about him, . 12. The Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. Job 2.3. The Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job; and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. 4. And Satan answered the Lord, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. 5. But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. 6. The Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. 7. So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
