FRIDAY

Friday was, both in the Greek Church and Latin, a Litany or humiliation day, in memory of Christ crucified: and so is kept in ours. It is our weekly fast for our share in the death of Christ , and its gloom is only dispersed if Christmas day happens to fall thereon.
