An apparatus consisting of two or more spars or pieces of timber, fastened together near the top, steadied by a guy or guys, and furnished with the nece ary tackle. They are used for lifting guns and heavy weights over the face of a wall or cliff, or in other situations where the gun could not be used for want of a footing for the pry-pole.
