An apparatus consisting of two or more spars erected, the lower ends spreading apart, the upper ends being connected together and fitted with tackles etc. for lifting heavy weights. They are placed on a ve el’s deck on a quay etc. for taking out or putting in lower masts, boilers, engines, heavy pieces of cargo etc., where no crane for such purpose is available.
