A variety of a, described by Kühne and Chittenden (. ¢.) which is soluble in dilute and concentrated hydrochloric acid, is precipitated by the addition of sodium chloride in exce , and is insoluble in hot and cold water. It has a specific lævorotai er Of 68°65°. On further digestion this is converted into anti album ate. [B.]— Prot-a’. Fr., proto-albumose. Ger., Prot albumose. A variety of a. described by Kühne and Chittenden, distinguished by its solubility in both hot and cold water, being precipitated from its solutions by the addition of sodium chloride Ls exce .
