Seven Years' War

(The.) (Hist.) The name by which is known in history the sanguinary war carried on between Frederick II. of Pru ia and the Emperor of Austria, 1756-63. England was the ally of the former; and Germany, France, Ru ia, and Sweden for some time a isted the Austrians. It resulted in the ce ion of Silesia to Pru ia, and was terminated by the Treaty of Hubertsburg, Feb. 15, 1763. [s. 817]
