Cecil William . Entered navy 1845; served in White Sea and Black Sea during Ru ian war 1854–6; landed and fired a quantity of stores at Genitchi 29 May 1855, and the stores and government buildings at Taganrog June 1855; decorated with Victoria cro on institution of that order 27 Feb. 1856; captain 16 April 1862; commanded Pylades on Pacific station 1868–70, and Valiant coastguard ship in the Shannon Dec. 1871 to Oct. 1872. d. Madeira Dec. 1872.
