CH..CH, Hydrocarbon radical or group, which enters into the composition of numerous organic compounds: such as ethyl alcohol, C,H,OH; ethyl sulphate, (C2H3)2SO4, and ethyl acetate, C,H,.C,H,O,.; thought to be derived from ethane by the removal of one hydrogen atom.
