a plant that retains its yerdure through all the seasons, as the fir, the holly, the laurel, the cedar, the cypre , the juniper, the holmoak, and many others. Hvergreens shed their old Jeaves in the spring or summer, after the new foliage has been formed, and consequently are verdant through all the winter season.
