an Arabian impostor who flourished in the 8th century. He led a schism from Mohammedanism, but was overpowered and committed suicide. His story forms an episode in “Lalla Rookh.” Hakluyt, Richard, an English author; born about 1553; was edus cated at Oxford University. He was the author of “Four Voyages Touching the Discovery of America and Islands Adjacent to the Navigations, Voyages, and Discoveries Made by the English Nation”; etc. He died Oct. 23, 1616.
