Benjamin ( son of Matthias Attwood of Hales Owen, founder of bank of Attwoods in London and Birmingham ). a manufacturer at Birmingham; came into a large fortune from his nephew Matthias Attwood; gave with greatest secrecy for many years sums of £1000 each to all manner of charities to amount of £375,000. d.
