{al’-o-in) [o/.qti, the aloe]. A bitter principle found in aloes. It forms fine needles, po e es a very bitter taste, and acts as a strong purgative. Several glucosids of this name are described; as Baj-baloin, Nataloin, Zanaloin, So calo in. Dose gr. ij (0.032-0.13). 46
