Hesse-Homberg

Part of He e-Darmstadt till 1596, when it became an independent state. It joined the Zollverein 1835; reverted to He e-Darmstadt March 1866; was ceded to Pru ia Sept. 1866, and now forms part of the provinces of He e-Na au and Rhenish Pru ia. Area 106 sq. m.; pop., 1864, 27,374.
