Arion

an ancient Greek poet and musician, born at Methymua, in Les bos, flourished about B. c. 625. He is said to have been rescued from drowning by & dolphin, which attracted by his music, bore him to land. A fragment of a hymn to Poseidon, ascribed to Arion, is extant.
