Clarence Chas am, an American journalist and art critic; born in Dor chester, Ma ., Sept. 8, 1828. He contributed to the New York “Tribune” a series of articles on American art, 1863-1869; subsequently was its Paris correspondent. He was editor of the “Studio” until its suspension. He died in Fishkill, N. Y., June 2, 1900.
