Guinea Fowl

Birds of sub-family Numidine of the Phasianidæ. Ab. 10 species are known. Some are crested, some have helmets, some bare heads. They are of Madagascar and Africa, go in flocks, are swift-footed, noisy, more or le spotted, and usually with richer colors than in the common Guinea hen ( Numida meleagris ).
