Turpentine

(tur’-pen-tine). Used in washing the skin, if it is nece ary to remove all grease. Also used to sprinkle on a fomentation where counter-irritation is required; it must not be left on too long. Styptic and anti-septic. Relieves flatulence and expels worms. Give small dose on sugar, large dose suspended in yolk of egg. Overdose poisons. See Terebene.
