Heteromera

Coleoptera having the tarsi of the two anterior pairs of legs five-jointed, and of the four posterior pair jointed. Here belong the Spanish Blister beetle, Lytta (or Cantharis) vesica to ria, and also Sitaris, which is parasitic in bee hives. The larvæ live in flowers, and thus get on bees. They are furnished with three pair of legs, and with mouth parts adapted to feeding Heteromera ( Sitaris mural is ). on the larvæ of bees. Later they lose these organs, become grub-like, and live on honey. From this stage arises the pupa, and thence the adult beetle.
