(2); (3) Grover, 22nd president of the United States, bom in 1837. He was elected mayor of Buffalo in 1881, and in 1882 governor of New York State, and president in 1884. In 1888, President Harrison succeeded him. Civil service reforms and tariff were advocated by him during his tenure of office.
