Town of Belgium; on the Meuse. 35 m. s.e. of Bru els; taken by the French 1692; retaken by William III. of Namur. England 1695; again taken by the French 1746, 1792, and 1794. It manufactures leather, paper, tobacco, and cutlery, the last of superior quality. Pop., 1891, 30,674.
