pyrocatechin

(pi-ro-kat’ek-in) (Gr. πῦρ fire + catechu|. Oxyphenol; ἃ crystallizable substance, C,H,(OH)., obtained by distilling catechu, etc., and sometimes found in the urine. It is an antipyretic, and is used like resorcinol. Dose, 1-2 gr. (0.066-0.13 gm.). Called also catechol. Producing or
