MENTUM

(Lat. the chin.) In Mammalogy, the term is restricted to the anterior and inferior margin of the mandible,or lower jaw. The mentum prominulum is that which extends beyond the perpendicular line drop i>ed from the upper margin of the lower jaw; the mentum abscond i tum is that which cannot be distinguished.
