(al’-nus) [L.]. Alder Bark. The bark of the American Alder. A. serrulata, contains tannic acid. The decoction of bark and leaves is astringent, and used as a gargle and as a lotion for wounds and ulcers. Dose of powdered bark gr. x (0.65). 45
