A clear fluid found in the lymphatic ve els, derived largely from absorption within the different ti ues, and finally poured into the great veins at the base of the neck. Chemically considered, it consists of water and albumin. with a considerable amount of sodium chloride. Histologically. it consists of a liquid ground substance similar to blood plasma and of solid cellular elements.
