Rounded-gunwale-plating

Is the name given to the rounded or curved plates, usually fitted between the vertical side-plating of a ve el, and a bridge-, forecastle-, poop-, or awning-deck-stringer; if the deck of such bridge, poop, etc. is of le breadth than the deck below either of them. See Plate 29. 9.
