Apiol

(ap'-e-ol), A poisonous principle occurring in parsley seeds; it crystallizes in long white needles, with a slight parsley odor; melts at 300 C., and boils at 2940 C. It is used in dysmenorrhea and in genito-spinal atony. It acts upon the reflex and vasomotor centers. It is also called parsley-camphor. Dose it is narcotic. Unof.
