JUJUBE

The fruit of the Rhamnus xizyphus: it resembles a small plum, and is occasionally used as a sweetmeat. What is sold under the name of jujube paste profe es to be the dried jelly of this fruit, but IS in fact a mixture of gum arable and sugar slightly coloured. [s. 634]
