Godfrey

Thomas, an American t; born in Philadelphia, Pa., Dec. 8 736. He wrote in 1759 “The Prince of Parthia,” a tragedy, believed to be the first dramatic work written in the United States. His = were collected in 1767 by h’s riend, Nathaniel Evans. He died near Wilmington, N. C., Aug. 3, 1763.
