(al’et-ris) (Gr. ἀλετρίς corn-grinder]. A genus of he mod or a ceo us plants. A. farino’sa, of North America, is tonic, anthelmintic, and diuretic: used in dysmenorrhea and amenorrhea. Dose of fluidextract, 10-30 min. (0.6-2 c.c.); of tincture, 1-2 dr. (4-8 c.c.).
