Hydatid

(hi’-dat-id) [vdaric, vesicle]. A cyst-like body with clear contents, especially that formed by the larva of the Taenia echinococcus. H. Disease, a disease characterized by the presence in various portions of the body of cysts containing the embryo of the Taenia echinococcus. H. Fremitus, H. Thrill, a fremitus occasionally obtained on palpating an hydatid cyst. H. Mole. See Chorion, Cystic Degeneration of, and Mole. H. of Morgagni, a small cyst connected with the fimbriated extremity of the Fallopian tube. In the testicle it is found between the testicle proper and the epididymis. It represents the remains of the Miillerian duct. 317
