Habit

(habit.) [Fr.; L. habitus, a garment.] (Bot.) The general form and appearance of aplant; also, the similarity in growth and structure between plants of di imilar species.-(Med.) The natural bodily state of the constitution, or a condition resulting from extraneous circumstances.-(Philos.) An aptitude or disposition, either of mind or body, acquired by a frequent repetition of the same act: thus, virtue is called aha bit of the mind; strength, a habit of the body. [s. 433]
