in law and commerece, the act of signing over to another, rights or property which have hitherto belonged to one’s self. An a ignment of estate is a transfer, or making over to another, of the right a person has in any estate. In general, a ignments should be recorded in the office prescribed by law, or are void as against those claiming under subsequent a ignments.
