saflun, n. A bulbous plant of the Crocus, having flowers of a deep yellow color dried stigmata of the plant, used in cooking, cine, and esp. in dyeing, etc. — a. Having the of saffron flowers; deep yellow. — Saf'flower, annual plant, the flowers of which are used as stuff and in making rouge; the dried flowers; or yellow dyestuff obtained from the flowers.
