Among colt sand young horses, a contagious disorder of an eruptive character occurring in the form of a swelling in the lower jaw, heralded by cough and sore-throat, and attended with a copious nasal discharge of purulent mucus. It sometimes, too, occurs in the glands of the groin and mesentery. [s. 859]
