n. Ya4z. An African term, meaning literally a raspberry, for framboesia (q. v., 2d def.); in the" sing., yaw, a single efflorescence of the disease. "Daddy," fadee," "grandy," " mania," "master," "moder," and "mother" y. are the large tubercles occurring in the course of the eruption, often at the seat of inoculation. Guinea-corn y. are those resembling a grain of maize; ringworm y. are the circular lesions; and watery y. are the cedematous tubercles occurring in cachectic patients. [G, 69.] Y1>KS (Fr.), n. Ed.
