Elberfeld

(eľbur-feld.) one of the most important manufacturing towns of Germany, in Rhenish Pru ia, on the Wapper, 15 m. E. by N. of Dü eldorf. It is united to the city of Barmen by a bridge. Pop. (1876) 86,504. [s. 319]
