Small-Damage-Club

A Club as above described by which members are covered against risks that do not usually come under the terms of an ordinary Insurance Policy. For instance, a lo under 3 % on the insured sum which usually is not recoverable from the Underwriters, will be indemnified by the Small-Damage-Club, if exceeding the sum of £ 5, or such other amount as provided for in the rules. Also wages of crew (when a ve el is detained in a Port under particular average); lo of life; injury to men on board a member's ve el etc. are in like manner generally compensated. uProtection Clubs”, Freight-Insurance A ociations ” etc. are all conducted on a somewhat similar footing with the foregoing.
