(1) a Persian of noble blood, to whom King Astyages gave his daughter Mandane in marriage. (2) The son of Cyrus the Great, became, after the death of his father, King of the Persians and Medes, B. c. 529. In the fifth year of his reign he invaded Egypt, conquering the whole kingdom within six months. He died in 521 B. C. Camden, city, port of entry, and county seat of Camden county, N. J.; on the Delaware river, opposite Philadelphia, with which it is connected by several ferries. It is noted for its immense market gardens and manufactures. Pop. (1910) 94,538.
