[s. 693] : A town in Persia, situated 100 miles N. E. of Bushire on the Persian Gulf. It is a place famous as the birthplace of many great Persians, and has considerable commercial importance. Population about 50,000. Station of the CMS (1900), with 1 mi ionary and his wife and 1 day school. 693
