Cassia

kash′ya, n. a coarser kind of cinnamon—also Ca ′ia-bark : the tree which yields the foregoing: a fragrant plant mentioned in Ps. xlv. 8 (Heb. qeçî'ôth , prob. the Ind. orris or costus ): a genus of shrubs of the bean family ( Leguminosæ ), the leaves of several species yielding senna, while the drug known as ca ia fistula or purging ca ia is derived from the pod of Ca ia fistula , the bark of which is used in tanning.
