{fun’-dus) [fundus, the bottom]. The base of an organ; the part farthest removed from the opening of the organ. F. oculi, the posterior portion of the interior of the eye seen by the ophthalmoscope. F. uteri, the part of the womb remotest from the cervix. F. vesicae, the floor, or bas fond of the urinary bladder. 286
