(tri'dent.) [From L. tridens, literally, having three teeth. ] (Myth.) An attribute of Neptune; being a kind of three-pronged sceptre, which the fable of antiquity put into the hands of that deity.-(Math.) A kind of parabola, by which Des cartes constructed equations of six dimensions. [s. 906]
