Outer-bearing

The bearing on a sponson-beam, upon which the outer end of a paddle-shaft revolves; also one fitted in the shaft-hole of a stern-post of a screw-steamer to receive the extreme after end of a propeller-shaft; this latter is not in general use. See Plate 16 A. io.
