Almanac

(awl'ma-ndk.) (Ar.) A calendar or table, containing a list of the months, weeks, and days of the year, with an account of the rising and setting of the sun, the moon's age, the solar and lunar eclipses, the ecclesiastical feasts and fasts, the most remarkable phenomena of the heavenly bodies, and other incidental matters. The first printed A. appeared in 1474, at Nuremberg. [s. 22]
