Three frightful winged maidens, with serpents was slain by Persius, and her head placed in the center of the ægis of Athena. Gorham Case. For denying baptismal regeneration, Bp. Phillpotts of Exeter refused to institute Geo. C. Gorham to a vicarage in Devon, and was sustained 1849 by the Court of Arches. The Privy Council reversed the judgment 1850.
