(görgunz.) (Myth.) Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa, three sister deities, who had hair entwined with serpents, hands of bra , winged bodies covered with scales, tusk-like teeth, and eyes so terrible that they turned every one on whom they looked to stone. Perseus is said to have killed them with the aid of weapons lent him by Pluto and other deities. [s. 416]
