Game Laws

(The,) (-lauz'.) (Eng. Pol.) Certain statutes in the English law, enacted for the preservation of beasts and birds considered as game, from unlawful appropriation and destruction. They are an offspring of the old forest laws, and are rigidly enforced. In the U. States, such laws bear application only to the in disc rim- / inate and unseasonable killing of game, all persons being free to take the same under proper restrictions. [s. 394]
