Genus of Colum bide, having highly-colored plumage, green being the prevailing color; the bill depre ed at the base, and the membrane in which the nostrils are pierced slightly swollen. It is found in the Indian Archipelago, and islands of Pacific Ocean, and lives mostly on fruit, whence the name.
